Asahi Matcha - Limited Reserve
Sourced directly from Shirakawa, Uji — the birthplace of Asahi (朝日), revered as "The Noble One." Born in 1952, this extraordinarily difficult-to-grow cultivar demands everything from its farmers: meticulous hand-picking, traditional Honzu shading and near-perfect conditions — yielding only a medium crop, making every gram precious.
A double-net cold gauze (Kaireisha) blocking 95% of light for 58 days pushes Asahi's leaves to their absolute limit — producing the highest L-theanine concentration of any matcha, elevated amino acids, intensified chlorophyll and unmatched creaminess.
Dark cocoa, toasted nuts and fresh nori, underpinned by deep, vast savouriness and a luxuriously velvety body.
This is single cultivar at its purest.
