Ch.3 Trio Bundle
Superbrew Uji Trio Bundle
Three matchas. Three of Uji's most revered tea houses. One definitive journey through the birthplace of Japanese matcha.
This trio brings together three distinct expressions of Uji—a rare single cultivar and two signature blends—each crafted by a family whose name is woven into the history of the region itself. Together they span the full range of how matcha is made and enjoyed: from a bold, bright everyday bowl to a generously sweet latte to a rare, ceremonial-depth cultivar meant for slow, attentive drinking. Rarity, heritage, and modern craft, held in a single collection.
Kiwami — crafted by Marukyu Koyamaen, one of Uji's most revered tea houses, refining the art of matcha for over 300 years. Bold and bright, Kiwami pours a fresh, vivid green with a clean, matcha-forward character rounded by natural sweetness and a quiet depth of umami. It holds its full flavour whether whisked as usucha or poured over milk—as at home in a premium latte as in a traditional bowl, and the ideal entry into the collection.
Izumi — a blend of four prized cultivars, Gokou, Okumidori, Samidori, and Tsuyuhikari, crafted in the heart of Uji by Ocha no Kanbayashi, a heritage tea house carrying forward a 450-year family lineage. Fragrant and full-bodied, Izumi is generously sweet with a gentle, rounded umami and almost no astringency or bitterness. It stays smooth and effortlessly drinkable whether whisked as usucha or poured over milk—the gentlest, sweetest cup of the three.
Ujihikari — "The Light of Uji," one of the region's rarest and most prized cultivars, crafted by Yoshida Meichaen, a family whose relationship with Uji tea spans 16 generations and includes caring for Japan's oldest tea garden at Kōzan-ji. Refreshing young-leaf aromas meet elegant notes of nori, giving way to a smooth, creamy body layered with deep umami, natural sweetness, and subtle hints of pistachio and roasted almond—finishing remarkably clean. Suited to both koicha and usucha, it is the collection's rarest and most expressive expression.
Together, they form a complete journey across Uji—from the everyday brilliance of a signature blend to the sweet generosity of a four-cultivar composition to the rare depth of a single prized cultivar. A collection created for those who seek to collect, compare, and experience matcha at its fullest.
