Ujihikari Matcha
Superbrew Ujihikari Matcha
Ujihikari is more than a rare cultivar. It is one of Uji's most prized. Its name —"The Light of Uji"— speaks to the land, its people and the centuries of knowledge carried within every leaf.
Crafted by Yoshida Meichaen, whose relationship with Uji tea spans 16 generations, this matcha carries forward a heritage the family has devoted itself to preserving—from practising traditional Honzu shading to caring for Japan's oldest tea garden at Kōzan-ji.
In the bowl, Ujihikari opens with refreshing young-leaf aromas and elegant notes of nori. It is smooth and creamy, layering deep, rich umami with a natural, lingering sweetness and subtle hints of pistachio and roasted almond—before finishing remarkably clean, with almost no astringency or bitterness. Whisked thick as koicha or thin as usucha, it is a matcha made for slow, attentive drinking.
A rare expression of Uji's land, legacy and craftsmanship—proudly brought to India by Superbrew for the very first time.
